On the road again

We have had a busy and enjoyable time at Tamworth has been a great experience even though it has been so hot, would not have stayed without air con in the van.

Went to 2 concerts at the Dag Sheep Station about 10 Klms from Nundle, tickets included a roast buffet meal. A lovely venue where they have accommodation and hold lots of songwriting workshops.

Caught a bus into Tamworth a few times, drove in a couple of times depending on concerts we had booked to go to, there were lots of free events in fact so many it was hard to choose. Went to Kacey Chambers, Amber Lawrence, Graham Roger, John Stephan (The Voice) performed Roy Orbison songs, has a show in Las Vagus and was really great, Amber Joy Poulton and on Sat night the Golden Guitar Awards which was fabulous there were 19 performances in an amazing venue, so you can see we have been busy.

Packed and left Nundle last Monday morning 28/1 and went through Armidale, Glen Innes, Inverell and had the night at  Warialda.  Not far from Tamworth, Moonbi hill 1 and then 2 were very steep and a big climb.  Some very pretty views from the top of the range.

Changed our plans and went to visit Ross & Averil Burton in Goondawindi before coming to meet Mary & Barry. Ross worked for PaPa many years ago driving the bulldozer and sank the big dam at Rocklea.  Was great to catch up again they made us very welcome. Originally had booked into Warwick however when we looked at caravan park it was very average and the cabin for Maz & Baz had no air con or ensuite, continued on to Toowoomba and had 2 nights in nice park and unit for M&B.  Ian Dumigan took us for Cooks Tour of Toowoomba and then we had BBQ with them last night at their house.  Coralie had invited Doug & Veronica Gordon, and Jeff &Karen Murdock who had been at Parkes with us so we had a fun night.

Decided to come to the Gold Coast and spend a few more days with M&B, we are at the Broadwater Tourist Park at Southport not very far from their unit.   There is a nice cool breeze this afternoon which is wonderful after the heat, the 2nights at Toowoomba were the coolest since leaving Boyup.

We are going to go south down the coast instead of inland NSW as we have had enough of the heat.
